Creating a new space…

Creating a new space, based on your old space.

Expanding on opportunities that are really right in front of you but you may never have noticed them.

Multiple weeks of lockdowns and self-isolation from all that we do have given all of us time to think.  Some of us have become wonderful home school teachers, some have become world-class chefs; others have become work-out gurus and some have gained a bunch of pounds (not shaming, just saying…)  We have been hoping for an end to this time but are apprehensive about what “re-opening” actually means across multiple industries.  Now, as more and more states relax stay-at-home orders, business owners are trying to get to a new normal.

That “normal” doesn’t have to be scary and earth-shattering.  I am in no way saying that the next couple of months are going to be a walk down a flower-lined walkway, but it doesn’t have to be devastating – for strategic thinking people, a reboot, a reassess, a new normal can be the ticket to a whole new level of success.

Opportunities that were passed off as impossibilities can now be lifelines for small businesses.  Now is the perfect time to meet with your mentor, consult with your Board of Directors, your business coach and knock around those possibilities.  If you have one of them, set up a meeting; if you don’t have any of them, now is the time to hire.

And if you think you don’t need someone to advise, listen, and help you plan, think again.

In the next few weeks, I will be adding blog posts that are case studies in inaction.  You do need to hear, realize and accept the fact that no one should be expected to reinvent fire.  Experienced professionals who can help you along the process of refining your plan, your path forward – that should be your new normal.  You’d be amazed at where you can go….
